Ep.11/ How to Get the Right Info at the Right Time

TL:DR - Perspective is the key to using your brain for its intended purpose: collecting and processing data from the world around you.

Digestion = How the brain and body best receive and transform information

Environment = Putting yourself in the line of fire of synchronicity.

Perspective = Paying attention to the right things.

The PERSPECTIVE arrow is the bottom right arrow.

The transformations are internal processes that build on each other. It helps to build solid foundations within your body before your mind can do its job well. Food comas might be the best example — overload the body, and the mind is just about shut down/

When you’re looking at your chart (or the example above), the arrows (at the top) on the left are all about the simple mechanics of how you run your life. (Read more about digestion and environment) These are largely internal and personal processes.

The arrows on the right are all about the processes of the mind. While these may also start internally (no one can perceive for you), they also begin to pull you into the world (as we’ll see in our episode about motivation).

The basics of the body taken care of, your mind can now get to do its correct job: observing the outside world and analyzing that information.

(Note: micromanaging daily decisions is the incorrect use of your mind. Listen to episode 4 and grab your HD Quick Start Guide to learn more.)

Unsurprisingly, the big question perspective asks is: What are you taking in from the world around you?

Note that words are fundamentally limited. Particularly as you explore Human Design, a system with it’s own lingo. Layer on a lifetime of cultural conditioning, and we face a potentially major challenges about the moral implications of some words.

What I’ve found to be true of Human Design is that it accounts for ALL of what it means to be human. Every human emotion has an expression that heals and an expression that hurts. As you explore your own Design, consider which end of the spectrum you might be on. Exploring some of these words is also a wonderful opportunity to key into your conditioning. Perhaps some you didn’t realize you had!

Take a look at your chart, and notice which direction your Perspective (bottom right) arrow faces. If it’s:

  • Left facing, you’re someone designed to take notice of the world around you

  • Right facing, you’re someone designed to be observing the self

Regardless of the direction of your arrow, there are six Perspective themes. Not every chart generator will show you this theme; if you got your chart here, it will be listed on the right side.

The themes are:

  • Survival — hHow do we simply survive at a basic level?

    • If survival is your theme, experiment with bringing your focus back to the basics of life. Food, shelter, water, community, movement.

  • Possibility — What are ALL the things that COULD happen?

    • If possibility is your theme, experiment with widening your focus and entertaining all of the various outcomes of a situation! Daydreaming was designed with you in mind.

  • Power — Who’s up and who’s down in life?

    • If power is your perspective theme, experiment with simply noticing who’re the movers and shakers? Who’s in charge? Who’s doing well? If your arrow points right, pay attention to your own personal power.

  • Wanting — What are the nonessential wants?

    • If wanting is your perspective theme, experiment with paying attention what folks around you are wanting (if your arrow points left), or what you’re wanting (if your arrow points right).

  • Probability — What’s the most likely outcome?

    • If probability is your theme, experiment with bringing your focus to what’s the most realistic outcome.

  • Personal  — What does this mean for me?

    • If personal is your perspective theme, experiment with paying the most attention to how the information life is offering impacts you! If your arrow points left with a personal theme, it’s up to you to figure out the implications of what life is showing you. If it points right, don’t fret — life will show you, in no uncertain terms, the point it’s trying to make.
